Game Rules

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible to play every player has to sign the 

Norcal Athletics roster/liability waiver

Uniforms:

Every team has to wear their assigned color

according to schedule or a team uniform. 

Light= all white shirts

Dark= dark blue/black shirts

Game Time:

Games are scheduled to start on time with a running clock, if a team does

not have a min.of 5 players after 5 min. of the scheduled game time

the game results into a forfeit. 

Game Balls:

Every team has to bring their own game ball

Forfeits:

2 forfeits result into

the disqualification for the playoffs. 

Referees are not required to officiate forfeits

Playoffs:

Seats are based on standings, first tie breaker is goal difference,

followed by head-to-head comparison. 

Guest Players:

2 guest players within the league are allowed, however the opposing team can protest

their eligibility. No guest players are allowed in the playoffs.

Rules:

8 week season includes 1 week of playoffs, either 5 weeks of group play and weeks of cross divisional play or only divisional play depending on the number of teams in each division

7v7 men's

Min. of 5 men to start

FIFA Rules with the following exceptions:

No slide tackling, no off side

Shin-guards and soccer socks are required!

Substitution only with ref approval

No fast start at shot on goal

Yellow card offenses:

sub without ref approval

5min. out of the game, no substitution

Red card Offenses:

Out of the game and the next

guilty of serious foul or play

guilty of violent conduct

spits at an opponent or any other person carries a min. 2 game suspension

denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal scoring 

opportunity by deliberately handling the ball 

denies an obvious goal scoring opportunity

uses offensive, or insulting or abusive language and or gestures

receives a second caution in the same match
