Fall Basketball Training With Coach Ian Fall 2024

Program Highlights

Ian Paratore (BA UC Berkeley) brings college-level technique to a playful and competitive environment. What follows is some of his basketball and education philosophy, as well as some of the specifics on how he runs a session with a wide variety of experience levels.

"Before players can be pushed to develop their strength and skills, they first need space to develop a love for the game. I balance high expectations with compassion when we cannot achieve those goals. We can teach high level concepts with the distraction of play.

Basketball is about two attributes: Balance and awareness. These skills can be applied to three key team focuses: Rebounding, Defense, and Shot Selection.

Safety is my number one priority. Fun is second, and game reps + sweat is next."
